Rent your own Rust server at 4Netplayers.com

In Rust open the console with F1. There you write: client.connect YOUR IP:Gameport
Press ENTER and the game connects to your server.

Launch Steam
Click on View -> Server
then click on the TAB Favorites.
click on Add a Server
Enter the IP:queryport of the server (e.g. 62.104.17.227:28019 ) and click on Find games at this address.
Important: You must use the queryport of the server otherwise Steam cannot find the server!
The queryport of the server is the gameport of the server +4.
If the gameport is e.g. 28015, the queryport is 28019.
Now click on Add selected game server to favourites.
Now close this window and click on Refresh.
Double-click on the entry to connect to the server.

Tip: If you have added the server as a favourite in Steam, you can also find it as a favourite ingame.
