Rent a Valheim server
Rent your own Valheim server at 4Netplayers.com

By default, a password must be set for Valheim.
But if you want to protect your server even more, you can create a whitelist.
We describe how to create a whitelist here.

Note: You will need the SteamID64 of the players you want to whitelist. You can get it here: https://steamid.io .
Important: To download the mentioned file you have to use a FTP program like Filezilla!

Follow the steps below:

  1. Start your server and stop it again. The status must be Server not running!
  2. Connect to the Saves FTP with your FTP programme.
You will find the login data in the FTP overview when you click on FTP.
  3. You will find the needed permitted.txt in the following directory:
    <ConfigID>/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/
Note: The <ConfigID> or configuration ID for your server can be found on our site under Gameserver. If your <configID> was e.g. 123456 it would look like this:/123456/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/.
  4. Enter the SteamID64 of the players.
    One SteamID64 per line!
  5. Save your changes and reupload permitted.txt
  6. Start your server

Players not on the list will get the message that they are banned on the server when they try to connect.
